Have you ever purchased or been tempted by a home hair colour?  The shiny box, savvy marketing, the minimal price compared to the salons?  Well I have and I want to tell you about my experience with the new Precision foam hair colour by John Freida.

Firstly it smells like your getting your hair done in a salon and the smell lingers in your locks for days (you know how much I love all things that smell).  The website claims "Precision Foam Colour is the first ever premium permanent home hair colour that uses foam technology to deliver salon-quality results at home" and its soooo true.  The application was so simple you could get your partner to do it.  The thing that i liked the most was the foam consistency - no dripping or getting dye all over the place - it stayed put on my hair until it was rich through my hair.  Also I want to mention the gloves - they are actually proper professional hairdressing gloves, not those crappy plastic ones that are made for troll hands....very impressive!!

The Precision foam range offers 20 flattering shades the all achieving flawless, natural-looking results at home and it has never been quicker or easier...trust me.

for hair that hasn't been coloured before - all you have to do it massage the foam into your hair and watch your hair transform!  My hair had re-growth so i simply massaged the foam into the re-growth areas until i got the desired colour then i ran the rest of the colour through my ends for a few minutes at the end.  Now my hair is blonde so i did have to use a purple toner afterwards but seriously to get the shade of blonde that i wanted, it couldn't have been easier.

So this is what you get...

All in all this is a simple and effective way to get the hair colour you desire with minimal effort and fuss or expense.  I think this product is suited best to hair that isn't chemically treated already - I was super careful applying this product to my bleached hair and made special care not to get the colour on the bleached areas - only my re-growth.  The end result was as good as a salon could have given me, minus a toner - but that was easy with the purple shampoo...

I rate this product 7/10
