Why am I bothering to critique beauty you ask? Let me ask you a few questions before I answer that:
1. How many of you have been reading a magazine when suddenly you see this amazingly gorgeous woman staring back at you with a line free, plump, peaches and cream complexion.
You take a while to look at her skin envious beyond belief and the words "miracle cream" catches your eye. You quickly turn your attention to the paragraph that follows "You too could have beautiful skin using our miracle cream full of blah blah blah that will reverse the signs of aging" thoughts rush through your mind:
OMG could this be true?
It must be an amazing cream for that beautiful lady to promote it?
It says it has blah blah in it, wow thats a big word -it must be a scientific word for something good?
Imagine how gorgeous I would look if i used this cream?
How much is it?
Can I afford it?
WHERE CAN I GET IT?
Does this sound familiar? And did you get sucked into buying the miracle cream only to realise you fell for some very cleaver marketing?
How did you feel?
Believe me, you are not the only person who falls for cleaver marketing..
which brings me to my next question:
2. Have you ever been to a beauty salon to have a treatment that just didn't stack up to your expectations?
3. Have you ever wondered if your beauty therapist is qualified or just a back yard dodgy pretender?
4. Are you the kind of person who is savvy with product ingredients, your home care skincare routine or just beauty in general?
If you have answered YES to the questions above, then you are going to love what is to come on my blog 'Critique my beauty' Not only will I endeavor to answer all of your questions regarding anything beauty, I am also going to be sharing what I think about skincare brands and beauty salons with you!
Stay tuned for the next blog!
Hi darl, I just found your blog after linking to it from twitter, so I decided to follow. This is everything I am interested in. I seem to follow quite a few blogs but to be honest I don't really keep up and usually forget which blogs I follow......UNLESS (hehe) they have email notifications enabled. I don't know much about blogging to understand why some blogs have this feature and some don't but in my opinion they should all have them, that way their followers can select if they want to be emailed every time a new post is made on the blog. It is the only thing that reminds me to check in on blogs pretty much (yes I know hopeless, haha) its the joy of having too much going on in my life, especially in the online world, lol. I just thought I would put it out there to you, seeing your blog is only relatively new. Maybe you know about it, as I said I know nada, haha, but I do know that I like that feature and if you were able to get it on your blog I would be very interested in reading your posts regularly. I love your style and way of thinking, so if you could give it a thought I will love you forever, hehe I will I promise ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm I just thought of something, if your blog has a Facebook page that is another way of letting followers know when a new post is made, another option if that email idea is out of the question ;)
